Have you registered your Year 6 class for the huge 'We're Off to the Big School!' event yet? There's a host of reasons to get involved as the big day in June approaches - including the offer of free Les Mills BORN TO MOVE™ youth fitness resources.
By partnering up with the team at Tree of Knowledge (TOK) for We're Off to the Big School: Class of 2026, Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) is committed to helping pupils transition into secondary school with greater confidence and we likewise also recognise the role that positive physical and mental health can play in making this significant transition as smooth as possible.
With this in mind, CPC is delighted to offer institutions that sign up for the FREE Big School event (taking place on Wednesday 17th June) access to age-appropriate BORN TO MOVE™ sessions, as presented by the renowned workout specialists, Les Mills.
CPC members since 2020, Great Sankey Primary School in Warrington, Lancashire were a part of the BORN TO MOVE™ Schools pilot programme and were full of praise for what the initiative (which employs music and song, while incorporating elements of dance, martial arts, plyometric training, sports conditioning and yoga) brought to their own institution.
"If you give children permission to move, they will: as soon as they hear the music, they’re on their feet!"
Complementing the benefits of the Big School initiative, the dedicated BORN TO MOVE™ programme for pupils in Year 6 is aimed at helping children become fitter and faster, developing strength and agility and engaging eight styles of movement.
By developing social, interactive skills, children are able to grow in confidence and competency, adding to their toolkit for the great adventure ahead, as a new wave of pupils get set to take their move to secondary school in their stride in September. 👍
Prepared to debunk those worrying myths, while sharing support from a slew of famous faces, We're Off to the Big School: Class of 2026 is a fantastic way to continue the journey into secondary school transition, with more than 40,000 live viewers tuning in last year for words of wisdom from Finn Russell, Eilish McColgan, Joe Wicks and Joe Hendry, plus a few Gladiators!
