As we continue the road to 'We're Off to the Big School: Class of 2026', in partnership with the team at Tree of Knowledge, CPC would like to remind members of another benefit for institutions registering for the FREE transition event this summer.
If you haven't heard about #BigSchool2026, where have you been?! It's a high-energy, interactive live event, to take place on Wednesday 17th June, with the aim of helping pupils approach their move into secondary school with confidence. Described as "Saturday morning TV meets the best school assembly you ever had", the original 'We're Aff Tae The Big School' event has been a roaring success for Scotland and CPC is thrilled to help Tree of Knowledge expand its impact across the wider UK this summer, with thousands of pupils already confirmed for the big day (which will air live via YouTube from 1.30pm to 2.45pm).
'We're Off to the Big School' is *completely free* to attend, but CPC encourages schools and academies to sign up in advance, helping ensure your pupils don't miss out. By signing up for the live event, you will also receive exclusive access to 'Big School Ready: Your Classroom Transition Toolkit', a flexible classroom resource hosted on the Treehouse platform. This special pack is designed to help support Year 6/P7-aged children in the run-up to moving schools this September, with its contents including:
• Reflection activities to help pupils celebrate their primary journey
• Confidence-building exercises to prepare for secondary school
• Short, engaging video lessons and discussion prompts
• A fun family activity to involve parents and carers
Across the lessons, pupils will explore things like building resilience when things feel challenging, the power of empathy and kindness when meeting new people, talking openly about any worries and looking ahead to the new opportunities awaiting.
Perfect for Year 6 classrooms, special transition days or end-of-term reflection, these lessons are interactive, discussion-based and designed to support teachers, pupils and parents alike as they approach this important milestone in any child's education.
Together, the 'We're Off to the Big School' event and 'Big School Ready: Your Classroom Transition Toolkit' create a complete, joyful and reassuring transition experience that helps pupils to feel confident, connected and ready for the adventures ahead.
