Important - register as a buyer on Find a Tender service

Published

By Rachel Burley

With the introduction of Procurement Act 2023 on 24th February 2025 came a requirement for all public sector buyers to register their organisation on the new Find a Tender service.

This is very important for our CPC members to action, as, within this registration, you will be able to create your organisation’s unique procurement identifier, known as an API Key.

Why do you need to do this?

You will need to do this because you will have to add your own unique identifier (the aforementioned API Key) into your profile on our MultiQuote eSender portal. This is the portal to which we give you free access, so you can successfully run compliant mini competition tenders from all our frameworks - including those we are now establishing under Procurement Act rules.

You will also need an API Key if you use any other eSender as part of your wider obligation to undertake electronic tendering for all public contracts you award. Finally, it is a requirement under the new Procurement Act to ensure that relevant notices are published to the new Find a Tender service. MultiQuote (and all other eSender portals) can only do this on your behalf if you have registered as a buyer on the Find a Tender service and shared your unique API Key with those eSender portals.

We have a dedicated Central Digital Platform - UK Government ‘Tell Us Once’ page that provides further details on how to use the new platform (which retains the ‘Find a Tender’ branding). The page also includes a downloadable step-by-step PDF guide to registering your company on the new platform. In addition, there is guidance accessible via the Gov.uk platform, which covers how to register your organisation and first administrator on Find a Tender.
