Dawson Books Update

Published

By Lisa O'Shea

CPC got in touch with members on Monday 22nd June to inform them that Dawson Books have gone into administration. Dawson Books Limited currently sit on Lots 1 & 2 of the CPC Library Resources Framework

Since then we have been in close contact with a member of senior staff at Dawson’s parent company Bertram and are attempting to stay abreast of the ever-changing situation. There are hopes that a deal can be made with a potential buyer but we are still trying to ascertain what that will mean for our members, their contracts and accessibility.

Members should find that their access to the DawsonEra platform has not changed and this will remain the case for now until we receive further updates. Bertram have been working closely with the Administrators Turpin Barker Armstrong regarding the current and longer term future of the platform, reiterating the importance of access for end customers.

We would like to emphasise the importance of minimising potential risk with regards to previous purchases for our members. It is recommended that you acquire a full list of any E-books currently serviced by Dawson. No new titles can be purchased at present from Dawson.

We will be continuing to stay in touch with Bertram and are hoping to provide further updates to members as the situation evolves.

Should you have any queries or concerns regarding the situation, please get in touch with Lisa O’Shea, Procurement Officer via email [email protected] or telephone 0161 974 0947.
