Salix announce a third round of funding towards heat decarbonisation opening 6th October 2021

By Peter McMullan

Phase 3 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) has been announced and the application portal for this new scheme will open at 2pm on Wednesday, 6th October. In addition, funding continues to be available for Scotland & Wales.

The funding initiative aims to help with the UK’s 2050 Net Zero target. The financing provides an ideal opportunity for public sector buildings to be switched to low carbon heating methods and move away from fossil-fueled heating as they are typically using now.

The priority for Phase 3 Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme is to provide funding for decarbonisation projects where the heating systems are at the end of their working lives and there is an imminent need for replacement, therefore the majority of the 2022 to 2023 grant funding has been set aside for projects that need to take place between Friday 1st April 2022 and Friday 31st March 2023.

CPC's Utilities Supplies and Services framework supplier  Dukefield  Energycan help with applications and creating detailed proposals and we recommend academies and schools start planning now to have the best chance of a successful application for this and the next funding window. Assistance with developing strategically focused heat  decarbonisation  plans can help put  organisations  in good stead for this application window and future funding opportunities.

Applications will be assessed on the information submitted around cost and deliverability. Details such as the building floor area in relation to the  decarbonisation  plan will be required. The building’s Display Energy Certificate (DEC) will hold the floor area information, if your DEC is not up to date,  Dukefield  Energy can help with this as well. A summary of hours necessary to complete the work is also required; including preparing a site survey, time spent on site and the time for developing the plan.

The application portal will close once all funding has been allocated.

Visit Salix Finance’s website for further detail and guidance on applying to the scheme.

Contact  Dukefield  Energy today on 0345 4022 461 or  [email protected]  if you have any questions or require help with your application.
