Sports, Fitness & Gym Equipment framework – an update

CPC’s Sports, Fitness & Gym Equipment framework offers members access to a broad range of providers supplying sport equipment such as bats, balls and bibs as well as gym equipment including treadmills, free weights, and rowing machines. Suppliers on the gym lot are also able to offer advice and design on full gym kit outs.

Sports equipment supplier Maudesport have been a key supplier on the framework for 3 iterations of the framework agreement and CPC developed a strong relationship with the organisation throughout this time. In 2020, WF Education purchased the Maudesport brand, meaning the legal entity had changed.

As part of our due diligence process, we must assess suppliers in order to novate the contract over. In this instance, WF Education were unable to fulfill this requirement in full. We have therefore taken the decision to not novate the agreement to ensure fair and equal treatment with other framework providers and to protect the interests of our membership.

CPC members can rest assure that the other suppliers remaining on the framework are capable of meeting your needs despite this change to the framework. Those who are in contract with Maudesport/WF Education should not be affected, however if your institution purchases directly from them, it may be worth assessing the provisions available by alternative suppliers on the framework, in order to ensure they retain the reliability afforded to them through framework use.
