Is your institution looking to purchase class sets and text-books?

Published

By Lisa O'Shea

CPC’s Library Resources framework not only covers books for your library, but also includes books used in the classroom, as well as at home, for items such as class sets and text-books. If your librarian is set up with an account through one of the suppliers on the framework, they are likely obtaining substantial discounts off of RRP, including an average of 19.63% off physical books, and an average of 15.98% off electronic copies. This average amount is taken from all the suppliers on Lots 1 and 2 of the framework respectively, so, in some instances, the discounts may well be higher!.

If your institution is not currently making use of our Library Resources framework, what are you waiting for? It is easy to call-off from the framework agreement using one of two Direct Award methods (for ad-hoc low value or urgent purchases), or through a mini-competition (where your financial regulations necessitate the use of a more complex award process).

Whatever method you choose to use, make sure you quote the CPC Library Resources and Associated Services framework, to ensure you are gaining the best possible discount.

If you’re interested in further information on this framework and how you might be able to gain better value for money, please see the framework User Guide on the dedicated framework page for details. Any members with queries, or in need of guidance, should contact Lisa O’Shea, Senior Procurement Officer on 0161 974 0947 or [email protected]
