We have been exploring the potential opportunity for setting up a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Waste Services following the aborted framework tender earlier in the year. Due to the technical characteristics of a DPS and how this differs from a framework, it unfortunately does not align with CPC’s current contracting procedures to make it a viable option for us to pursue at this stage. We are now concentrating our efforts on working with our contracting partners in the HE sector to deliver a national waste services framework to meet the requirements of all educational establishments. We believe that by working together this will increase the appetite among the supplier base which was the core issue with the previously cancelled tender process. The current proposed timescales indicates the framework may be in place for the summer 2018 however we will keep you updated on progress through our monthly contracting update and the CPC contracting pipeline.
