CPC deals are recommended by the DfE in the new Academies Financial Handbook

Published

The new Academies Financial Handbook that comes into force from 1st September 2018 has been published by the Department for Education (DfE) and strongly recommends academies make use of the ‘Deals for schools’ that are endorsed by the DfE on their Buying for Schools website. We are delighted to confirm these include four CPC deals (frameworks): Building Cleaning Services, Audit Services, Insurance and RPA services plus Desktop Hardware. Soon many more CPC deals will be recommended on the DfE website.

The Handbook places more emphasis on the importance of good procurement practice and recommends the DfE Buying for School guidance resources which CPC provide access to as part of the Learning Resources section of Crescent Learning website. The Handbook also confirms the new reporting and consent requirements concerning contracts that are fulfilled by parties related to an academy trust, as we discussed in our news article last month.

The ESFA has also updated its academy trust guide to reducing fraud, which includes an anti-fraud checklist and new information about cyber-crime and cyber-security. For more information see Academies Financial Handbook.
