Based in the Hampshire countryside Sparsholt College is a large campus incorporating a fully-functioning farm. The College is one of the leading providers of land & environment based courses offering an extensive variety of specialist training areas which are shared by all pertinent curriculum areas. Students at this College can study a range of full or part time courses including agriculture, animal and zoo management as well as conservation, countryside and the environment.
Sparsholt College had a procurement requirement which exceeded EU procurement thresholds. They were therefore required to publish an OJEU contract notice for the first time as well as uploading the contract notice to the Contracts Finder portal and requested some assistance from CPC in completing this process.
An OJEU Contract Notice is mandated where the value of the contract exceeds the published procurement threshold. It is notification to the market of the procurement opportunity and details the key elements of that procurement. The notice must be prepared using a predetermined template with significant levels of detail and information required.
Our Regional Procurement Advisor (RPA,) Karen Edmeads, assisted Tracey Angio in using the CPC guidance documents available on both FELP and on the CPC website. Karen visited Tracey at the College and went through the entire process step-by-step.
Karen provided on-site support and remained in regular contact with the College to ensure they were confident with each step of the procurement process.
Procurement Manager at Sparsholt College, Tracey Angio said: “I couldn’t have successfully taken on my role without the grounding in Public Sector Procurement that Karen and Jo Frost, [Regional Procurement Advisor at CPC] have given me.”
Speaking about the benefits of the RPA service, Tracey said she now has a: “Good sound knowledge of CPC offerings and a good understanding of OJEU and Government Policy. “
