This framework offers a route to market for any member with a requirement relating to entrance and access control systems. It offers a route to market for all entrance and access control needs including supply, design, installation, bureau services, maintenance and repair.

Entrance and access control systems are the critical primary interface to maintain your organisation’s safety and security access permissions. An access control system is an important and effective part of your overall security system and its benefits include:

  • Enhanced security of employees, students, builds and assets
  • Supports other in-house security measures
  • Reduction in the overall cost of managing security.

This framework has a total of 13 suppliers and is split into two distinct categories that relate to a member’s requirements:

  • Lots 1-1O are designed to meet the needs of any member with a requirement for goods and services. Should you require entrance and access control equipment, software, consumables, etc. and installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair or testing services, then you should conduct a further competition through this lot. Lot 1 consists of a national lot and 15 regional lots, members are free to select the relevant regional lot and/or the national lot to service their requirements.
  • Lot 2 is designed to meet the needs of any member with a requirement for the supply of Entrance and Access Control goods only. This lot offers a route to market for any member with a requirement relating to the supply of consumables (such as blank ID cards, tokens etc.), software, hardware (card readers, card printers), as well as a Bureau Printing Service. The Bureau Printing Service is an option for members who don’t have onsite access control token production facilities. Members utilising this requirement will confirm their requirements to the supplier who will then securely produce the required tokens on behalf of the member and issue them to the institution.

How can I use this Framework

Due to the diverse nature of our members’ estates and facilities infrastructure, it would not be feasible to develop a framework price list that would encapsulate the full extent of member requirements in this area. Accordingly, members wishing to meet their requirements through this framework should undertake a further competition to refine and confirm their requirements to the relevant framework suppliers. Within the framework user guide, templates have been provided to assist members in undertaking further competitions.

Due to the complexity of requirements in Lot 1, members are advised to allow between 3-4 weeks for suppliers to respond to further competition requests. Depending on the information provided by each member as part of a further competition, suppliers may be required to undertake a site visit/survey in order to tailor their proposal to the member’s specific requirements. Members are also advised to take account of peak demand periods around half-term and end-of-term periods when a large number of members may look to undertake installation/maintenance works. Members should confirm the required completion date for any works required at further competition stage, so that suppliers can allocate sufficient resources to the works delivery as part of their proposals.

Members with a requirement in Lot 2 are advised to allow between 1-2 weeks for suppliers to respond to further competition requests.
