Giving Back funding kits out sensory room

We are pleased to share that CPC and its Giving Back funding recently assisted Applecroft School in Hertfordshire, helping to create an inclusive environment to support learners with SEND and those struggling with physical and mental wellbeing.

Following a successful application in our 2025 funding window, Giving Back contributed to developing their sensory room - while already constructing a space to house a sensory facility, the school required additional funding to populate the space.  

With help from CPC, they now have a sensory room that can create a fantastic, calming environment for children of all ages and abilities, supporting pupils with self-regulation, balancing their emotions, exploring their senses and enjoying relaxation.   

The funding for the project was secured via CPC’s charitable Giving Back scheme, which supports institutions around the UK in improving their SEND provision, nurturing wellbeing and tackling absenteeism. Since its inception in 2019, this programme has designated over £2million for reinvestment in the UK's education sector, facilitating a variety of purchases, projects and events.

Applecroft School Finance & Business Manager, Odette Coe, said: "Our new sensory room has had a massive positive impact on our children with sensory processing disorders. The environment created is designed to help a child develop coping skills and helps to regulate the brain’s response to stimuli. The time spent there helps to stabilise a child and thus assists them in returning to the classroom environment. We have seen so many children, who previously were not engaged, become more positive learners after a session in the sensory room. Thanks to Crescent Purchasing Consortium for awarding us this grant".
