Support on offer as Procurement Act enters Year 2

Published

By Ashley Cox

It's now been over a full year since Procurement Act 2023 reshaped public purchasing across much of the United Kingdom. Crescent Purchasing Consortium is still here to help and can support your institution in a number of ways, outlined below.

  • Get in touch with CPC and connect with our procurement team. Leading the way in our response to the new regulations, CPC has duly ensured all of our procurement professionals are certified Advanced Practitioners of Procurement Act 2023.

  • Visit our new Crescent Learning section, as we continue to strive to improve education and knowledge of procurement in the education sector. This renewed, expanded L&D offer contains a wealth of useful information for public sector buyers.

  • Jump into our Procurement Act Portal, the go-to platform for CPC's 10,000 members and consultancy clients alike. Our hub of Procurement Act information is an extensive resource and has been signposted by the Department for Education.

  • Send your suppliers to our Guide for Suppliers, which can help inform and explain some of what lies ahead, in terms of future public sector tendering. At more than 5,000 words in length, there's plenty to absorb in this supply chain resource.

  • Call upon your Regional Procurement Advisor (RPA), either in person, or remotely. A priceless CPC service, we have RPAs stationed in various parts of the UK and they can help to continue to clarify new issues relating to Procurement Act 2023.

  • Connect with CPC on LinkedIn and receive informed updates on any new Procurement Act talking points, if and/or when they arise. Many of our procurement professionals are LinkedIn savvy and may contribute added insight during Year Two.

  • Join your nearest Procurement Advisory Group (PAG) and get in the room with peers and professionals, including some of CPC's finest. Ideal for networking, PAGs also serve as knowledge-share summits and can thus provide outside support.

  • Find CPC representatives at various key in-person procurement events, around the UK. We've recently been in Liverpool, London and elsewhere, so look out for our purchasing experts and take on board any pearls of Procurement Act wisdom.

  • Log in and use the CPC Communicator, a quick and easy tool to discuss Procurement Act experiences with professionals from other institutions. With 10,000+ members under CPC's umbrella, this platform could deliver some valuable insights.

  • Look out for any future webinars presented by CPC or our partners. Most recently, this February, we put on Procurement Act 2023: One Year Later with the expert procurement lawyer and training provider, Kieran McGaughey, as an example.

  • Check out our previous PAG Presents webinars to find sessions devoted to Procurement Act 2023 discussion. Further relevant editions of PAG Presents may be in the pipeline for 2026, so do keep an eye on CPC's social media channels.

  • Ensure your registered CPC Membership details are up-to-date, including subscription to the CPC Members' Newsletter. By maintaining accurate contact details, CPC can deliver any pressing Procurement Act updates direct to your email inbox.
