We're almost one year on from the introduction of new public purchasing regulations for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and, to mark the occasion, our team has prepared a special Procurement Act 2023 anniversary update webinar.
Procurement Act 2023 came into force on 24th February 2025. It is now clear that this new regime has delivered evolution, rather than the predicted revolution, with the process feeling more familiar than expected, while still introducing significant improvements in transparency and flexibility. Our impending one-year check-in will intend to highlight key areas of change.
We are delighted to have Kieran McGaughey on board for this informative session, which is open to members of both CPC and Crescent Services alike (our non-education sister brand). Kieran is a consultant solicitor and legal trainer specialising in public procurement law, sitting on the Executive Committee of the Procurement Lawyers’ Association and contributing as a public procurement expert for LexisNexis. As a solicitor, Kieran has advised a wide range of contracting authorities on how to successfully navigate the procurement rules and, as a legal trainer, he has delivered training to thousands of public procurers, with a particular focus on the Procurement Act itself. We thus expect Kieran to be able to offer our members useful insight.
In this free online session, Kieran will reflect on what the initial year under the new Act has looked like in practice, including:
Trends since the new Act went live: key areas of change in practice
Staying on the right side of the rules: opportunities and pitfalls to avoid
Managing a dual regime where PCR 2015 still applies to existing contracts
The practicalities of using frameworks and what has changed under the Act
What’s next: key developments to look out for in the coming year
Q&A
The webinar is scheduled for 10am-11am, with members of CPC/Crescent Services able to register now via the link below. ⬇️
