Procurement Training

A key area for our member institutions to consider when planning for procurement, is procurement training. This could be to create procurement capacity or to raise awareness of procurement within the institution to secure buy-in to the procurement function.

The most recognised procurement qualification for procurement professionals is MCIPS accredited by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). This qualification can be completed via either an exam route or in some instances, an NVQ route and there are colleges who offer these courses either through classroom study or distance learning.

CPC offers both free and funded procurement training suitable for procurement professionals, budget holders and those new to procurement. This includes allocating bursary funding to sponsor a small number of members’ procurement/finance colleagues through their Level 4 CIPS diploma studies.

CPC also has a team of Regional Procurement Advisors who can provide free onsite or remote training on the various regulations that impact procurement activity as well as training for budget holders on how to use framework agreements.
