Crescent Purchasing Consortium are delighted to announce we will be working in partnership with the Department for Education, Schools Commercial Team at their next Trust Procurement Network, being held at their Manchester office at Piccadilly Gate on Tuesday 26th November.
Our very own procurement guru Mark Pearson (Learning and Development Lead) and Jack Horton (Customer Engagement Manager) will kick off the agenda with a full hour slot providing a Procurement Act 2023 update, National Procurement Policy, Strategy (NPPS) and Social Value.
In addition, Mark Pearson will also support facilitate a Q&A panel discussion on trust procurement priorities.
The Schools Commercial Team are holding a series of these events as part of their ongoing effort to build strong regional networks that support schools and trusts in navigating complex and challenging procurements. To highlight the role and value of the DfE’s Get help buying for schools’ free procurement service.
Why attend?
In March 2024, the Schools’ Commercial Team facilitated two successful face-to-face events, highlighting the importance of regional networks. These events brought together a nucleus of people dedicated to supporting each other through the intricacies of procurement. Building on this success, their upcoming event aims to further this by providing a platform for schools and trusts to connect, share insights, and collaborate.
About the DfE’s 'Get help buying for schools’ service
The 'Get help buying for schools’ service offers free and impartial support whether handling single procurements or aggregations between groups of schools, trusts, or local authorities. This service is open to any school, whether part of an academy trust or local authority maintained. Their goal is to empower schools and trusts with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed procurement decisions.
What to expect:
Networking opportunities: Connect with peers and experts in the field of school procurement
Valuable insights: Gain insights into the challenges and solutions in procurement from experienced professionals
Collaborative environment: Participate in discussions and share your experiences to help shape future events
Their hope in time is for the Schools’ Commercial Team to play a facilitating role, while trusts and schools take the lead in planning the schedule and selecting speakers. This collaborative approach will ensure that the content is relevant and valuable.
