As the Procurement Act's impending arrival gets ever-closer, CPC's own Learning & Development Lead, Mark Pearson, brought his expertise to the Department for Education's Trust Procurement Network in Manchester.
Promoted as a platform for schools and trusts to connect, share their insights and collaborate, the Trust Procurement Network has evolved from two initial March events, facilitated by the DfE Schools’ Commercial Team, to a wider series.
Following virtual events for the London/South and Yorkshire/Humber/North East areas, Mark was part of the Piccadilly Gate gathering on Tuesday 26th November; this event coming within days of RPA chief Jack Horton presenting at the DfE Buying for Schools summit, as CPC teamed with the DfE to offer value and knowledge to institutions, this winter.
As Jack prepares for another set of sector-supporting meetings and webinars in 2025, Mark has kept a busy schedule, contributing to Inspiring Leaders’ Professional Leadership and Learning Communities (PLLC) on a virtual basis, before addressing suppliers in person at a special Procurement Act update, held at CPC’s Procurement House HQ in Salford.
Per the September communication from the UK Government Cabinet Office, the Procurement Act is poised to become working law on 24th February 2025, with its rules covering public procurements in England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
CPC can help you prepare for this generational change in the way public purchasing is governed, so contact us today.
Those responsible for procurement at multi-academy trusts are encouraged to look out for future Trust Procurement Network events, while CPC is set to schedule more of its Procurement Advisory Group (PAG) get-togethers in the new year, adding to the number of the networking opportunities available to stakeholders in the education community.
