Following February's debut in Birmingham, the second Procurement Act Live will explore the game-changing public buying legislation's formative impacts, with delegates heading to London on Tuesday 14th October to recap 'The Journey So Far...'
Presented in partnership with the Cabinet Office and incorporating contributions from Communities of Practice, Procurement Act Live will serve as a catch-up, eight months into the landmark Act's implementation in England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
More specifically, the one-day summit will recap successes and/or difficulties of "early adopters", offering potentially valuable insight into how buying organisations and suppliers have handled the new regulations in their maiden months as working law.
A useful weapon in our collective arsenal has been the aforementioned Communities of Practice concept, which has sought to share best practice information and guidance, leveraging the cumulative skills of our broad communities as we all get to grips with the Act and its realities. More commonly hosted online, Procurement Act Live will, fittingly, bring these gatherings to life.
Facilitated by the Cabinet Office's CoP leadership team, the live Communities of Practice sessions will focus on the following...
Flexible Procedure
Preliminary Market Engagement
Contract Management
Complementing a Live Debate Area, Insight Zones and Cabinet Office Engagement Hub, Procurement Act Live attendees will be able to engage with a variety of professional service providers on site, including our own Crescent Purchasing Consortium team, who can be found at Stand 11. Bring your Procurement Act questions to CPC and our experts will endeavour to assist.
Meanwhile, visitors to the ExCeL can expect speeches from the UK Government's Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Forzani, the Crown Commercial Service's Head of Contracting Policy, Richard Hassett and the Professor of Public Procurement Law & Regulation at the University of Nottingham, Luke R.A. Butler, among a host of others. There's plenty to take in across the day.
Event tickets are free of charge for public sector institutions, encompassing access to the highlighted attractions and more. Book your tickets here and join us in the English capital on 14th October for the latest chapter in the Procurement Act story.
"For public sector buyers, procurement professionals, legal teams and stakeholders, this is a critical moment. As the new rules become embedded into everyday practice, understanding how they’re being interpreted, tested, and evolved is key to achieving compliance, driving efficiency, and delivering value."
