CPC Contract Manager, Lisa O' Shea, was recently nominated for Business Support Professional of the Year in the 2024 Made in Manchester Awards, with the annual showcase held at The Point, Old Trafford on 1st February, in celebration some of the region's leading young talents.

Some 650 business professionals from across Greater Manchester came together on the evening, showing their support for the host of professionals making waves in the business community and while Lisa did not bring home the trophy, her nomination itself was a sizable success - for CPC and for Lisa personally.

Arriving at CPC in 2015, Lisa has moved through the ranks to the role of Senior Procurement Officer and managed a broad portfolio of purchasing framework agreements in the time since assuming her post, with a combined members' spend in excess of £34 million for the 12-month period preceding this nomination.

In addition to overseeing our re-tendered Sports, Fitness and Play Equipment agreement which launched in the summer, the overall scope of Lisa’s continued responsibilities at CPC has been quite wide-ranging and included our Outsourced ICT, Staff Absence Protection & Reimbursement, Synthetic Sports Facilities and Insurance and Associated Services for Schools & Academies frameworks, with each of these recommended by the UK's Department for Education (DfE).

A strong role model within CPC's parent company, the CPL Group, Lisa has helped to foster a working environment which received both Great Place to Work and Great Place to Work for Women accreditation in 2023 and also serves as Chair of the CPL Group's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) working group.

2024 marks the second consecutive year that CPL Group colleagues have been represented in the coveted MiMA shortlist, with our HR co-ordinator Helena Fearnley-Brown previously nominated for the HR Professional of the Year and Recruitment / Talent Professional of the Year prizes, while both web developer Robert Lyons and IT operations specialist Josh Wood were amoung the Technology / Innovation Professional of the Year nominees, at the 2023 ceremony.

The Made in Manchester Awards is organised and promoted by the team at pro-manchester, the North West's largest business development association.
