Salford City FC Foundation is delighted to announce that Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) has been selected as their Charity of the Month for October 2026.
CPC is a not-for-profit charity that supports the education sector providing purchasing frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems (DPS), procurement consultancy services and learning and development opportunities via Crescent Learning for schools, academies, colleges, universities and other educational organisations across the UK.
As a charity, CPC ‘Gives Back’ to the education sector. To date, it has designated more than £2.7 million in funding to support three core pillars: SEND, wellbeing and absenteeism. In 2026 they were delighted to have impacted over 75,000 learners. Through its next five-year strategic plan, CPC aims to support 500,000 learners across the UK.
SEND: Learners with special educational needs and disabilities, helping to create more inclusive environments and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Wellbeing: The physical and mental wellbeing of learners (with or without SEND). This includes initiatives that help learners develop resilience, build positive relationships and feel safe, supported and able to succeed in their education.
Absenteeism: If a learner is not attending school, college or university then they cannot progress. Giving Back funding can support initiatives that remove barriers to attendance, re-engage learners and help them get back into education.
Salford City FC Foundation is proud to support their vital work. As Charity of the Month, Crescent Purchasing Consortium will receive 20 tickets to a Salford City FC game, a donation of Kellogg’s cereal to support their beneficiaries, and recognition on our social media channels, including dedicated announcement and feature posts.
This week we hosted a special presentation and photo opportunity at the Salford City FC Stadium to celebrate Crescent Purchasing Consortium and publicly acknowledge the incredible contribution they make to wellbeing in our region.
Darren Lowe, Managing Director of Crescent Purchasing Consortium said: “I am delighted that Crescent Purchasing Consortium has been selected as Salford City FC Foundation’s Charity of the Month for October. Recognition from the Foundation is a kind gesture and will help to promote our charity to a new audience, which is appreciated. Our charity has been based in Salford since 1999, and our recent acquisition of the Turnstile Building on Cromwell Road means we will continue to be Salfordian for many years to come. We hope that the increased profile aided by the Foundation will help us to be seen by more education establishments and stakeholders because we aspire to provide a procurement support service to as many schools as possible in Salford and beyond. Our designated funds finance many projects and events which help learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), improve wellbeing for all learners and reduce absenteeism from education.”
Dale Mulgrew, Fundraising & Partnerships Manager at Salford City FC Foundation said: “Through Salford City FC Foundation’s Charity of the month initiative we aim to highlight the great charities across Salford, this month we are highlighting Crescent Purchasing Consortium a brilliant organisation who are continuing to deliver high-quality community services across Salford. This is another demonstration of charities working together for the common good in Salford.”
