Get those bids in for the Condition Improvement Fund

Published

The bidding application window for the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) for 2023-24 is now open, with eligible institutions able to bid for a share of a pot totalling more than £400 million.

The purpose of the CIF is to positively impact and even transform facilities, improving conditions, supporting maintenance, addressing health and safety concerns and ensuring added compliance.

The kind of projects that can benefit from CIF funding include those enhancing gas and electrical safety, fire protection, asbestos removal, weatherproofing, heating and water supply support.

With the UK’s economic climate placing new pressure on so many of our institutions’ budgets, we recommend our Sixth Form colleges and academies move to get their applications in for 2023-24.

The CIF has already confirmed financial support for the 2022-23 period, backing up no fewer than 1,405 projects, at 1,129 different academies, Sixth Form colleges and voluntary-aided (VA) schools.

It is vital eligible member institutions to act with speed to benefit from the next round of funding.

The deadline for new applicants to register their interest is midday on Thursday 1st December.

The deadline for submitting applications is six days later, at noon on Wednesday 7th December.

Password resets for the CIF online portal can be requested until 24 hours before this deadline.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome from the spring, albeit no earlier than May of 2023.
