2026 has already proven to be a banner year for CPC's signature Giving Back charity initiative, with dozens of new projects supported, including The Nest, a wellbeing room for pupils at Penwortham Priory Academy in South Ribble, Lancashire. 🪹
Since launching Giving Back back in 2019, Crescent Purchasing Consortium has literally given back over £2.7 million to the education sector, with the scheme now dedicated to supporting SEND, wellbeing and absenteeism projects around the UK.
One of the projects that recently benefitted from the scheme was at Penwortham Priory Academy, where CPC grant funding enabled the creation of The Nest. A dedicated room within the school that can facilitate therapy-based use, this development contains its own sensory area, The Calming Corner, offering a variety of sensory seating, plus full sensory wall and sensory toys.
A calming and inviting area, The Nest allows pupils to access therapeutic services provided by the institution, including an on-site school nurse, school counsellor, Compass Bloom mental health worker and ELSA (or Emotional Literacy Support Assistant).
Thanks to £3,000 of CPC Giving Back support, what previously served as a Head of Year room is now transformed into a go-to hub of wellbeing and pastoral pupil assistance, as our efforts to make a real positive difference to young learners continue on.
Moreover, the official opening of The Nest (a place to Nurture, Encourage, Support and Talk) saw former pupil Daniel McCall invited back to cut the ceremonial ribbon, as well as to see his calming commissioned artwork in its new home. Read more 🖱️
