Each year the surpluses of Crescent Purchasing Consortium, Tenet Education Services and Tenet Procurement Services are combined for reinvestment back into the education sector. Crescent Purchasing Limited allocated £375,000 towards allowing eligible members the opportunity to apply for funding that ranged from £100 up to £20,000 towards the sponsorship of student related events and activities.
Carr Hill High School based in Kirkham, Preston made a successful application and received the maximum award of £20,000 towards providing Chromebooks that will allow students to embrace the use of technology and provide innovative approaches towards teaching and learning within the classroom.
These Chromebooks will be integrated as part of the curriculum in a variety of subject areas. The laptops will support online activities, providing a modern approach to compliment traditional teaching methods and encourage students to engage in their work and increase opportunities to improve their skills in IT.
Head of Procurement, Pat Condon attended the school on Tuesday 8th October to officially present a cheque for £20,000 to Headteacher Andrew Waller, with staff and students in attendance.
