During November we attended the Schools & Academies Show in Birmingham and the CPC, Tenet and CPL Group teams met so many fantastic people from across the education sector.
We had two stands at the event, one which featured CPC and Tenet and one which featured our charity which gives back to the education sector, CPL Group.
During the event two CPC members who had applied for funding for student events and activities received big cheques from CPL Group towards their projects.
On the Wednesday of the event one of our Regional Procurement Advisors, Louise Ashcroft, presented The Jubilee Academy, part of the The Harrow Alternative Provision Academy Trust with a cheque for £10,225. Sukhi Cooper, School Business Manager and Data and Exams Manager said:
"Many of our students are from hard to reach families, vulnerable/ disadvantaged backgrounds who have a range of social emotional and mental health issues added with behavioural issues that as a result make it difficult for them to cope with the pressure of exams. Many believe they are not ‘good enough’
The school believes that the outstanding teaching and learning that is delivered on a daily basis at the school is significantly addressing the huge gaps in learning, however, more needs to be done in the form of additional specialised support for students to overcome their battles with self-confidence, low self-esteem and exam stress.
The Harrow Alternative Provision Academy Trust are delighted to have secured funding from Crescent Purchasing Limited, to deliver a tailored programme of activities, planned in partnership with a local Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service and the school’s pastoral team to provide targeted exam support for our students. We believe with this additional support our students will ‘reach for the stars’."
On the Thursday of the event Pat Condon, CPC’s Head of Procurement presented Longdean School with cheque for £7,500, Tracy Doyle the Finance Director at the school said:
“Creating a wildlife pond is a project we have been working on for over a year. Our aim is to provide a haven both for insects and amphibians and for our students to get out of doors and engage with the natural environment. This grant from CPL Group has come at just the right time, allowing us to create a reef, edging stones and planting so that the pond can come alive.’
