Make a difference to education through a CPC career

Published

By Ashley Cox

A recognised Great Place To Work® with multiple adjacent accreditations, CPC has established itself as a people-friendly employer in the sector, with a sincere focus on staff wellbeing and a steadfast commitment to professional development.

Driven by its values, CPC's flagship Giving Back programme reflects its overall ethos, with work undertaken by team members around the UK helping to both promote and bolster the coffers of its charitable initiative. Developing into a central part of the organisation since its inception in 2019, Giving Back has seen some £2 million in reinvestment funding allocated to education purchases and projects, ensuring CPC's role in support of the sector remains a consistent difference-maker, on multiple levels.

By pursuing a new career move with CPC, you can be part of this difference-making. In 2025, Giving Back attracted more funding applications than ever before, with scores of worthy causes vying for a slice of our six-figure surplus. In line with a refocused approach to the charity's scope, pitches for SEND, wellbeing and absenteeism initiatives were welcomed and we were delighted to green light a good number of these, so watch this space as we share their progress in the months ahead.

Now, as we approach our next Giving Back window (in 2026), CPC has the challenge of trying to meet its rising demand, thus growing our organisation is key to expanding the Giving Back footprint and making as many new projects as possible reality.

And this is where you come in. CPC is privileged to employ staff who continually live its values and contribute to the overall Giving Back effort, through exceptional everyday work. From our Regional Procurement Advisors to Crescent Consultancy experts, from framework Contracting Managers to Communications and Engagement pros, CPC offers a variety of roles and responsibilities under its crescent-shaped umbrella, all striving for the benefit of education institutions and their learners. By bringing your skills to CPC, whatever your speciality might be, you are helping contribute to our Giving Back mission, giving pupils the present of a brighter future. Read on for some of the many Giving Back purchases and projects CPC has funded.

But as well as empowering young people, CPC recognises the vital, fundamental importance of looking after its own people.

Through employment with CPC, staff are able to draw upon a significant amount of internal and external support, from a free Employee Assistance Programme to dedicated, in-house mental health first aiders. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are offered to our staff, enabling individuals to better combine their role with outside commitments, while allowing them to work at times most beneficial to their own, unique personalities. Backing our team through the funding of relevant training opportunities, a CPC career can be shaped to fit each recruit's strengths and/or interests, with multiple successful colleagues nurtured by a 'grow your own' hiring and development policy and a positive approach to graduate recruitment resulting in a new appointment this summer. With a diverse range of ages, backgrounds and specialisms, CPC is a positive and progressive employer, with 95% of polled employees agreeing with the statement "I'm proud to tell people I work here".

In 2025, CPC put on a major Summer Event at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, giving employees the opportunity to experience the culture and customs of yesteryear at an award-winning outdoor attraction. Prior summers have, meanwhile, seen teams embark on volunteering missions in their communities, with CPC allocating a day's paid volunteer leave each year.

CPC's combination of culture and benefits have helped us to achieve Great Place To Work® status for a fifth consecutive year from the eponymous global workplace culture authority's UK arm. In addition, CPC has been recognised among the UK's Best Workplaces for Development, the UK's Best Workplaces for Wellbeing™ and the UK's Best Workplaces for Women.
