PAG Summer Special to host Procurement Act Q&A

Published

By Ashley Cox

With Procurement Act 2023 now law, the Procurement Advisory Group (PAG) Summer Special will serve to continue CPC's substantial support provision, with a Q&A event devoted to the new regulations for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

This one-off session offers CPC member institutions a golden opportunity to pick the procurement brain of our dedicated CPC Learning & Development Lead, Mark Pearson. Mark is a Qualified Practitioner of Procurement Act 2023 and oversaw the recent development of our successful Procurement Portal - an online resource hub signposted by the UK's Department for Education, which sought to provide stakeholders with an abundance of regulatory information in the lead-up to February's go-live launch.

While 24th February was a landmark day in the annals of public procurement, it was likewise, in some ways, just the beginning. This is reflected by the Portal's subsequent updates, which reposition it as a continuing tool for those procuring under the new regime. CPC knows not all questions will have been answered by 24th February. On the contrary, the changes (or lack thereof) might have even raised new questions, making PAG's Summer Special a potentially timely addition to your webinar calendar.

In a nutshell, it could be a chance to gain invaluable clarity on Procurement Act matters before commencing your first tenders under the new set of rules, as well as to understand what kind of purchasing frameworks will continue to be governed by the preceding Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Confused? Our procurement experts at CPC can both inform and support you.

So, put the date in your diary and make your plans to join our Q&A on Tuesday 10th June 2025, from 10am to 11.30pm.

The next in our PAG Presents series, the Procurement Act 2023 Q&A will address what to expect in the next academic year.

As well as a selection of pre-planned questions, we are looking to encourage member participation and thus welcome you sending your own questions across, or pitching them to our resident panel during the course of this PAG Summer Special.

Joining Mark Pearson for this free-of-charge session will be a familiar face in CPC's Customer Engagement Manager, Jack Horton, and a new face in Procurement Manager, Katherine Orme. Katherine arrived at CPC in December, after occupying procurement roles in the UK education sector at both The University of Manchester and Liverpool John Moores University.
