The Utilities Supplies & Services framework recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, with CPC members saving 12.5% on average for a combined total saving of £1 million. Members have provided some excellent feedback about their experiences of using the framework and many have generated significant savings for their institutions. Many members have mitigated budgetary risks in an increasingly volatile market by opting for longer term fully-fixed energy contracts.

“The Utilities Supplies and Services framework has proven tremendously successful in its first year of operation. Gas and electricity costs often account for a significant portion of many of our members' operational budget yet it is one of the least understood or influenceable areas of spend.
Our two primary goals for this framework were to demystify the energy market and to deliver best value to our members. Over the past 12 months we have provided a wealth of advice and guidance to members in the form of a dedicated help desk, articles, blogs, documentation and presentations to better equip members with the knowledge to make the right decisions for their institutions. The framework has generated over £1,000,000 in savings for members to date from a value perspective, but value isn’t always just about lowest price. The framework has added value in various other ways, for instance being able to offer members 100% renewable energy at no additional premium has been extremely popular with an ever increasingly environmentally conscious clientele. Additionally, services including dispute resolution, bill validation and coordinating supply transfers, terminations have proved extremely valuable to members as well.”
