Episode 6 of No Ordinary Day in Procurement: The CPC Podcast sees CPC's Head of Contracting Services, Peter McMullan, explain how compliant purchasing frameworks can help public sector institutions, as well as discussing how his team have been at the forefront of Procurement Act 2023 learning and support.

A 20+ year procurement professional, Peter arrived at CPC in April 2018 and has managed the organisation's Contracting team since 2022, overseeing a comprehensive response to the new public purchasing regulations, while helping increase our number of buying frameworks recommended by the Department for Education to a record high.

From geothermal heating solutions to medical training mannequins, Peter's career has shown him how there is No Ordinary Day in Procurement, while equipping him with the skills and expertise to advise and assist contracting authorities across the education sector (and wider public domain). As such, he serves as a valuable guest in the sixth in our series of podcast chats.

In this near 40-minute discussion with resident host and CPC Customer Engagement Manager, Jack Horton, Peter affirms the importance and value of procurement, covering key topics on the horizon in the realm of public purchasing and emphasising CPC's role in terms of establishing legacy, with members able to be part of our Giving Back to UK education via their buying.

Espousing the benefits of working with framework suppliers, in order to fill knowledge gaps, Peter revels in the variety of his profession and is also able to share the latest on CPC's forthcoming construction framework, in partnership with Weightmans and Identity Consult, bringing knowledge from his formative construction career to the fore, once more.
