A busy event week continues on 16th October, as Crescent Purchasing Consortium heads north for the SNE Annual Summit.
From Newcastle United Football Club lifting a first trophy in 56 years to the end of Ant and Dec's 23-year winning streak at the National Television Awards, much has changed in the North East of England since CPC was part of this Summit, 12 months ago.
Meanwhile, the education sector has been through a milestone year of its own, with the introduction of Procurement Act 2023 reshaping the regulations governing public procurement for this region, as well as across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
On Thursday 16th October, we bring things up to speed, with Crescent Purchasing Consortium returning to the storied setting of St. James' Park for the annual Newcastle gathering. But does 2025 present an opportune moment for Rebooting Education?
"The education landscape is undergoing a fundamental reset", states the SNE event publicity. "Major system-wide reviews are already underway, from the Ofsted inspection framework, to the national curriculum, to the long-overdue SEND review. These top-down changes are significant. But for too long, reform has happened to the sector as opposed to with it.
When technology falters or freezes, we reboot the system. Education is no exception
Calling the Summit "our collective power button to reboot", event organisers have scheduled a series of challenging discussion subjects for the day, tackling topics from inclusion and sustainable leadership to the issues faced by white, working class pupils.
Among the variety of speakers pencilled in are Ofsted National Director of Education, Lee Owston, former Secretary of State for Education and Skills, Baroness Morris of Yardley, plus Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Social Justice, Andy Cook.
An established and valued procurement partner for UK education, Crescent Purchasing Consortium will return to Newcastle as part of the SNE Summit's accompanying exhibition. Whether your institution has Procurement Act problems or general buying blues, come and find CPC at St. James' Park and our friendly, professional team will be happy to help you in the right direction.
If you've struggled with purchasing projects before, our procurement experts at CPC are ready and able to reboot your buying.
