CPC backs trio of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion charities

Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) has reaffirmed its continued commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion by way of making a £1,000 charitable donation, as spread across three different ED&I causes.

Following internal discussions within CPC’s dedicated ED&I working group, it was determined CPC would show its support to charities The Race Equality Foundation, Just Like Us and Scope, with the CPC board green-lighting the decision and subsequent payment in the month of July.

By doing so, CPC has been able to emphasise an ethos of giving back that extends beyond the remit of its own flagship Giving Back charity initiative, underlining its position as an employer that values what equality, diversity and inclusion can bring to wider society, as well as its business.

The Race Equality Foundation has a target of tackling inequality in public services specifically, with focuses on health and care, children and families, housing and community, as well as an overarching aim of improving the lives of black, Asian and other UK minority ethnic groups.

Just Like Us work to support LGBT+ young people, delivering talks to schools and colleges, providing training and information via Pride Group/School Diversity Week resources, while striving to facilitate appropriate allyship from peers and others across their communities.

Scope meanwhile is continuing its 70+ years of work in aid of the disabled, campaigning for a fairer society where all disabled people may receive parity and advocating a social model of disability that can recognise and remove societal barriers, as well as changing public attitudes.

Currently seven-strong, CPC’s ED&I group has provided colleagues with a number of resources in 2024 to date, including an investment in membership to the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (or ENEI), which provides access to regular webinars on a series of ED&I topics.

The ENEI is a non-profit organisation that assists employers in establishing and maintaining diverse work teams, something in line with CPC’s philosophy of integrating a variety of voices and differing life experiences to produce better outcomes for employees, members and partners.
