Need Audit Services in 2026? Start planning now!

For audit services, especially external audit, suppliers' books fill up quickly once the new academic year begins, so the best time to arrange for next year's external audit (September 2026) is typically nine to 12 months prior to your contract’s expiry.

Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) recommends first confirming whether you have any potential extensions left with your provider (something you will hopefully find in the tender documents that were used to appoint you incumbent), which might allow you to take advantage, as this will free up capacity for you to focus on other areas.

If you are not yet considering the retendering of your audit services contract (but know that it expires during 2026), feel free to reach out to us still to discuss your options. We are here to help you. As such, CPC Contracts Manager, Lisa O'Shea, can supply you with guidance and check your draft documentation, so, if you are unfamiliar with the process of tendering external audits, be assured that CPC can provide you with relevant practical support.

Details on our Audit Services framework and template documentation are available here and, if you need additional support, CPC has a dedicated procurement consultancy services team based all over the UK, they can help you every step of the way.
