As education providers across the UK start to navigate the annual cold and flu season, CPC is keen to remind members of our Staff Absence Protection and Reimbursement Services framework, which recently received a coveted commendation.
Launched in May, this 2025 agreement is designed to support institutions in the face of staff absence challenges, connecting schools, academies, colleges and universities with appropriate policy suppliers, all evaluated and approved by the CPC team.
With this process offering prospective framework users peace of mind through its slate of pre-assessed policy providers, the Staff Absence Protection and Reimbursement Services agreement has itself now been endorsed by the UK Department for Education, joining a host of CPC-promoted frameworks to be DfE-recommended and showcased on its Find a Tender service.
This particular framework is one of a number in the CPC catalogue to be specifically recommended to schools and academies.
Within the scope of this agreement, our registered CPC member institutions (register for free here) may procure appropriate coverage for staff illnesses and accidents, bereavement and compassionate leave, maternity/paternity and a whole lot on top, with staff rehabilitation and wellbeing support services also on offer.
As with all CPC's procurement frameworks, the overarching benefits for education sector institutions are numerous, from its inherent, intended simplicity to its CPC Quote Tool, Sourcing Cloud and user guide functions, plus its embedded support for our flagship Giving Back charity programme, which has backed scores of worthy education projects since its 2019 inception.
By using a CPC framework, institutions are quite literally Giving Back to UK education, with more than £2m in grant funding allocated to different institutions from surpluses accrued through eventual spend made in use of CPC procurement services.
If you're looking to lessen the financial impact presented by staff absences in 2025-26, CPC's Staff Absence Protection and Reimbursement Services can act as a convenient gateway to the kind of cover you need - all while making a real, charitable difference to a variety of young learners, way beyond the walls of your home institution.
With the Department for Education's seal of approval validating the framework's quality for schools and academies alike, we encourage our community of CPC members, present and future, to explore what this purchasing support solution can offer...
