Description

This framework is for the provision of staff absence protection and reimbursement services, to ensure Institutions are financially supported in instances of staff sickness or absence.

Policies offered by suppliers on this framework are flexible and can be tailored to individual requirements, which will allow Institutions to determine their own benefit and excess periods. Coverage by insurance providers/brokers, a discretionary mutual arrangement, or similar non-commercial route includes (but is not limited to) absences caused by the following circumstances:

  • Accident
  • Illness
  • Compassionate leave
  • Jury service
  • Suspension
  • Maternity/paternity
  • Adoption
  • Bereavement
  • Mental health
  • Stranded staff
  • Hazardous sports/winter activities
  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Other ongoing absences

Framework providers can offer additional value through rehabilitation and wellbeing support services designed to help prevent and reduce the number of absences, and help staff return to work.

Specialist insurance advice for the life of this framework agreement continues to be provided by our partner Risk2Value Ltd (R2V). Should you have any technical queries relating to your requirement, or a question about the market, please contact Risk2Value Director and Insurance Consultant Graham Peck at g.peck@risk2value.com or 01452 864 874

How to Use

Institutions can engage with suppliers on the Staff Absence Protection and Reimbursement Services framework agreement through a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Mini Competition process. CPC suspect that the value of most contracts in this area will be below the government threshold for goods and services, and as such, assessing suppliers on the coverage included within submitted policies and the cost of premiums is generally sufficient. Policies are usually offered on a renewable 12-month basis (in a similar manner to personal car insurance).

Important Procurement Act 2023 requirement

It is very important for CPC members to register on the new Find a Tender Service to create your organisation’s unique procurement identifier, known as an API Key. You then need to add the API Key to your profile on our MultiQuote eSender portal to run compliant mini competitions for our frameworks. It is a requirement under Procurement Act 2023 that relevant notices are published to the Find a Tender Service and MultiQuote can only publish your notices if you have added your API Key. See our Find a tender service registration web page for a step-by-step guide on how to register.
