Grounds Maintenance

This agreement can be used to purchase grounds maintenance for schools, academies, colleges and universities. It will enable you to secure a broad range of ground maintenance contracts to best meet the needs of your institution.

You can secure value for money due to competition between the 15 specialist grounds maintenance suppliers over 12 regional lots and a national lot. You will also save time as you won’t need to complete a full tender process.

This is the latest version of our previous grounds maintenance framework which was very successful. It has added value for CPC members and provides members pricing plus desktop calculators for direct award and mini competitions. It also provides opportunities to deliver social value and improve community impacts.

Use this framework for all or part of the following elements:

• Parks and green space management
• Grass cutting
• Turf maintenance
• Border maintenance and planting, including pruning, feeding, weeding and pest/disease
• Weed and vegetation control
• Pesticide/weed control application
• Seasonal planting and maintenance
• Hedge and tree work (including tree removals)
• Nature conservation
• Surface cleaning including hard surface and tarmac areas
• Playground equipment maintenance
• Winter services
• Leaf collecting
• Litter picking including sharps
• General grounds requirements
• Fence line maintenance
• Tree maintenance (immature & mature)
• Fine sports turf including pitch marking and sports pitch/field maintenance (scarifying, spiking and harrowing of sports fields)
• Other outdoor non-synthetic sports surfaces (if you require synthetic sports pitches or maintenance use CPC’s Synthetic Sports Facilities framework)

2. Technical guidance and support of experts – the framework contractors are industry experts with a proven track record of delivering robust economical and environmental solutions for the education sector
3. Technical and COSHH data sheets will be provided for all chemicals used - contractors will provide support and advice for risk assessments and planning for emergencies
4. Support and assistance from a dedicated CPC contract manager - to resolve any queries and issues that arise during the agreement
5. Social value and regional lots - the framework has been sub-lotted into smaller regions to give better opportunities to SME's and ensure the social value benefits generated are retained within the region. It allows for a more quality driven and responsive service from framework contractors
6. Safeguarding and DBS - all contractors have been assessed and evaluated in terms of their approach to safeguarding. They understand the importance of delivering high quality and safety driven services, whilst recognising their duty of care to protect customers (students, staff and the public) and employees from foreseeable risks
7. Buyers guide - this includes details of the framework, awarded suppliers and call off options
8. Call-off options – including direct award so you have flexibility to use the framework to best suit your needs.
