CPC at the starting blocks for summer sports days

Published

As schools and academies around the UK limber up for their annual summer sports days, our all-star team at CPC is eager to remind institutions of some of the related purchasing frameworks in our catalogue.

From pitches to play equipment and gym kit to cricket wickets, CPC can offer education an extensive array of sporting solutions, linking our members with approved suppliers via our compliant agreements.

Our Synthetic Sports Facilities framework covers the construction, maintenance and refurbishment of athletics tracks, as well as heavy-use, all-year synthetic sports pitches, specialists courts, multi-use games areas (MUGAs) and more.

Our Sports, Fitness & Play Equipment framework was recently renewed in May, expanding its scope in the process. The scope of this renamed agreement encompasses equipment and accessories used in sports, athletics and gymnastics, as well as strength and resistance training and health and fitness pursuits.

Our PPE, Clothing & Uniforms framework meanwhile enables the purchasing of sports clothing and PE kits, with a selection of eight approved suppliers supporting the relevant lot (Lot 2) and First Aid kits and supplies also accessible (via Lot 5).

In addition, we are able to offer further provisions via Dynamic Purchasing Systems:

The Minor Works DPS offers no fewer than 29 building works categories and could be useful for institutions looking to construct or refurbish their sports halls, gyms or changing facilities, with its large pool of suppliers handling a wide range of specialist trades.

The Leasing Services DPS facilitates access to financial funding for member institutions' assets, with professional support and guidance by UniLink Finance, who can assist with evaluating bids from lessors. Sports pitches and gym equipment fall into Lot 2, which is currently serviced by Siemens Financial Services.

Our Dynamic Purchasing Systems are typically intended to encourage greater competition and differ somewhat from our regular frameworks, as they permit applications from new suppliers at any time, rather than before a framework is finalised and launched.

With a potentially limitless number of suppliers in waiting, each DPS allows for greater potential participation from smaller and medium-sized businesses.

This can, in turn, drive further savings for our member institutions, making their financial and procurement hurdles a little less daunting this summer.

CPC wishes staff and students at all our schools and academies a safe, fun and rewarding summer sports day season.
